How you state what you want in the new year, including the energy within you when you state what you want and the words you choose, has a profound effect on your results. Framing your intentions in the most favorable and positive light will help you attain what you really want for your life.

This is far more powerful than writing down a few hasty New Year resolutions or glibly saying that you want to change a habit or accomplish a goal.

Before you can understand how to frame your intentions, it is important to understand what an intention is.

What Are Intentions?

Intention, as defined by the dictionary is:

Definition:

1. aim or objective: something that somebody plans to do

2. quality of purposefulness: the quality or state of having a purpose in mind

Intentions are the first step to getting what you really want.  They’re essential because a well framed intention encompasses both what you desire along with the positive emotions and energy necessary to receive it back from the universe.

For example, “I intend to be better with money,” is much different than “I intend to become financially independent and debt free.”

The former, “I intend to be better with money,” implies ambivalence, doubt and even a lack of commitment to the intention itself.  It takes with it these negative or at the very most apathetic emotions with it out to the universe.  Now as you know, like attracts like.  If you’re ambivalent or negative about your intention well…the universe is going to be unsure or negative with the results it sends to you.

However the very positive and specific latter intention carries with it all the weight of an affirmation.  It’s a clear objective with a strong purpose.

Now you might be scratching your head and wondering what the difference between an intention and a goal is.

A goal is defined as:

the end toward which effort is directed: aim

While it is typically quantifiable and measurable, like “I want to save $10,000 towards retirement this year” it isn’t stated with the same purpose as an intention. An intention is a goal which asks for divine inspiration, assistance, and guidance – it carries with it a state of purpose. Goals are great and are very useful. Intentions, however, are much more powerful because they incorporate all of your energy – conscious, unconscious, and the divine to help you attain your objective.

Intentions Matter

Intentions are the first step toward getting what you really want out of life.  They’re the first step toward serenity.

Your Inner Power Source, the soul within you which is the divine, gives you what you ask for. When you ask for it with feeling, know who you really, really are, and release the blockages that keep you from getting what you want – your life becomes what you are consciously choosing for it to be rather than how you are unconsciously reacting to it.

Now we just mentioned clearing the blockages that keep you from getting what you really want. You can state the most powerful intention, but if you have limiting beliefs – attaining your intention will be difficult.

For example, if your intention is “I intend to become financially independent and debt free.”

Yet deep down inside you grabbed onto the belief that money is scarce, then your intention carries with it that limiting belief – you believe that money isn’t available to come to you and so…it doesn’t.  This is why clearing techniques are so important.  And quite honestly we don’t know we have these limiting beliefs, fears and negative emotions because they are in our unconscious.

Clearing methods like SVH – Serenity Vibration Healing® and Enlightenment Technique, EFT, PSYCH-K(TM), and hypnosis  -  will help you frame your intentions in the most powerful way possible and clear the junk that is blocking you from receiving what you really want.

Creating A Powerful Intention

Begin getting what you really want today.  Create an intention. Think about what you really want for your life, eliminate the limiting beliefs you’re aware of, and frame it in the most positive language and emotions possible – tap into that Inner Power Source. It is your divine birthright.

Declare your intention out loud, in a strong voice and with conviction or repeat mentally to yourself. Make it part of your daily practice. Record it in writing. Affirm your intention daily upon awakening and before going to sleep at night. Make it your mantra for at least 40 days. This is a spiritual practice and a form of active prayer involving conscious choice and declaration.  Have fun with it!

Finding Serenity In The Midst Of Chaos

Did you ever wonder how some people just seem to stay calm in the midst of chaos?

Today’s article gives you a different perspective about chaos. It shows you how cultivating a few simple practices can make a difference when it comes to keeping your cool. The holidays can bring up lots of chaos, right?

Whether you’re in the middle of the holiday season, dealing with a friend or a family member who is going through something difficult, super busy at work or perhaps you’re stuck in the current financial quagmire – chaos looms all around us.

It’s unavoidable. We cannot control others around us. We cannot control how they react, what happens to them nor ourselves at times.

However, we can control how we react. We can find serenity in the midst of chaos.

Here’s how:

Take time to practice self care. It’s easier to stand outside of the chaos swirling around you if you take time to practice self care. Self care means taking time out of your busy day to take care of yourself emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

This can be done through meditation, journaling, praying, and reading. Creative artisticexpression, exercise, eating well, dancing, getting a massage and taking luxurious bubble baths are effective ways to nurture yourself. Laughing with friends, telling loved ones that you love them and spending time with them are more examples. There are many ways to practice self care. Find ways to celebrate who you are and make time for you each and every day.

Incorporating self care into your daily routine will make those chaotic moments feel less chaotic. They’ll be more manageable, and you’ll be able to stay calm, cool and collected.

Find joy in the moment. The kids are screaming, dinner is burning on the stove, the phone is ringing, the dog is barking. All of a sudden your child walks up to you and vomits on your new sweater. Total chaos, right? It could be, or it could be hysterically funny – it all depends on your point of view. You could yell at your kids, complain about your partner or spouse not helping you with dinner, kick the dog and throw that sweater right into the garbage or…

You could ignore the phone call, that’s what voice mail is for. You could ask the screaming children to play with the dog. You could embrace your vomiting child, give them a big hug, turn off the burner, drop that new sweater into a sink of cold water and laugh at the moment. Sounds impossible right? It’s not. There is joy in each and every moment, even the really tough ones. Focus on that joy, nothing else really matters.

Express Gratitude. When all heck is breaking loose it becomes easy to focus on the negative. All the troubles and difficulties suddenly seem to overwhelm. Negative energy creeps up on you, often without you realizing it, and your balance of power is changed. Maybe you feel like a victim. Negative energy, thoughts, and emotions now pervade, causing you to feel powerless. To change your balance of power in the face of chaos – remember what you’re grateful for.

In the chaotic household example above, you could be grateful for voicemail, take out, Woolite and a one way doggie door! You could also be grateful for your capacity to manage such a tremendous household and have such wonderful children because even when they’re screaming, they’re pretty darn amazing, right? Be grateful for your strengths, for being alive, for the ability to separate yourself from the chaos and gain perspective.

Surrender. Sometimes chaos can seem so unimaginably terrible that the only thing you can do is give it up to a higher power. To surrender the moment and the outcome to the Creator, the Creator in you, your Inner Power Source or the universe, knowing that everything will be okay.

To have faith that ultimately, even if you do not understand the why of it, there is a reason for everything. We each have our own challenges to overcome and there’s a much bigger picture than we usually are able to understand when we’re in the midst of chaos. If you can let go of the outcome, then you’re better able to manage how you respond both externally and internally. You can find serenity in the face of chaos.

Clearing away negative and limiting thoughts, empowerment coaching, and a commitment to following your personal path are proven approaches to banishing chaos. The whole world can be crumbling before you and yet you’re able to stand there knowing full and strong that you’re on the right path, choosing peace.

Serenity Matters held a free teleseminar recently entitled How to Clear Away What’s Bugging You and Attract What You Really Want Instead. Michael and I were the hosts.

It’s been a delight to hear that so many people found the teleseminar beneficial and enjoyable.

I’ve been answering listeners’ questions and comments since the teleseminar. Themes about abundance and weight loss are on a lot of people’s minds. Many individuals are reporting noticeable changes already. How great is that? 

A number of listeners mentioned that they liked the ”I Wonder” exercise, including when I used weight loss as an example….hmmm. Watch for our next free teleseminar on how to “Uncover Your Naturally Slender Self.”

Michael led us on several mental journeys to shift from the cares and concerns of the day. The idea was to focus internally; set intentions to receive the highest and best good from the teleseminar and receive blessings from the Creator.

Julie Purdy, Motivational Speaker and Life Coach, was truly inspiring as she shared how Serenity Vibration Healing helped her make important life changes. Julie filled us with hope, conveying her unique philosophy of “Living Powerfully!”

During the last part of the seminar, Jill Marie, founder and developer of Serenity Vibration Healing, used her state-of-the-art active form of prayer to help listeners clear away blocks to abundance. She even included a special gift for anyone who listens to the recording.
