Active Prayer

“Are Your Prayers Getting Answered?”

That’s kind of a personal question, isn’t it? It’s also an expression used in our Judeo-Christian culture and other faiths that rely on or use prayer. Maybe you don’t use prayer, but you know what we’re getting at. Is your life what you want it to be?

Do a check-in of your life right now and ask yourself if you’re happy with every aspect of it? Of course, you’re grateful, but are you happy? Are your prayers getting answered? What’s your answer?

  • “No.”
  • “Sometimes, but not enough.”
  • “A little, I get what I deserve.”
  • “Yes, but I don’t want to ask for too much.”

If there’s something in your life that lacks joy, feels hard or causes distress in any way, then do something different. Your fine and enormously capable brain might immediately know what the solution is or you can sit down and brainstorm ideas. You will know fairly quickly if this approach brings you the results you want.

However sometimes you feel really stuck, trapped or at your wits end with no hope for any resolution in sight. You know the feeling – you really want to change something, but you can’t because there’s a fight going on inside of you and you feel like it’s a big battle and overwhelming to do anything different. The Scientific Power of Prayer

Posted by: | Comments (0)

The mind body connection has amazing and powerful implications.  Dr. Herbert Benson who founded the BHI, Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine, which is a part of Massachusetts General Hospital, is a professor at Harvard Medical School.  He believes that physical health is influenced by thoughts, feelings and behaviors.  These same thoughts, feelings and behaviors are also influenced by physical symptoms.  It is yet another of life’s amazing cycles.

There is more and more research about how thoughts, beliefs, and feelings affect the development of disease and recovery from disease.  We know that some people are able to change their Galaxy NASA Hubble Heritage Teamthoughts through prayer and seemingly miraculous things happen, like the complete reversal of a terminal condition.  While researchers are still figuring out exactly how these thoughts and beliefs affect our body we do know that the mind and body communicate constantly. What our mind thinks, perceives, and experiences is sent from our brain to the rest of the body on a steady basis.

The mind body approach to medicine attempts to teach patients to reduce stress, change their limiting thoughts and negative behaviors, and embrace their beliefs to both control their health and to prevail over illness.  One powerful way people have been influencing their health and the health of others for centuries is through their beliefs in prayer.

All religions, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, or Christian, believe in prayer for healing.  Healing rooms, prayer groups and even online prayer groups can be found all across America and the world.  According to an article published in the Washington Post, “Surveys have found that perhaps half of Americans regularly pray for their own health, and at least a quarter have others pray for them.”

The religious are not the only proponents of prayer for altering health.  Quantum physics cites a phenomenon whereby distant particles affect other’s behavior in mysterious ways – thus having other people pray for you conceivably sends energy to you that can and does affect your health.

In addition to quantum physics citations, an abundance of studies have been done over the years which have found a strong correlation between prayer and health.  The reasons are still unclear, however many theories are currently being tested.

In one study of 990 cardiac patients conducted at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., researchers found prayer improved health based on a composite score of measures that the researchers created for the study.

In a Heritage.org interview with Dr. Harold G. Koenig, a tenured Duke University associate professor of psychiatry and an associate professor of medicine, the director and founder of the Center for the Study of Religion/Spirituality and Health at Duke University cites several smaller studies.  “In three of three studies you find a connection between religious involvement and immune and endocrine function; in five of seven studies, the religious experience lower mortality from cancer; in 14 of 23, they have significantly lower blood pressure; in 11 of 14, they have lower mortality; and in 12 of 13, clergy mortality is lower.”

There’s no doubt that prayer has a significant effect on our health.  As scientists are able to better define parameters and control groups we’ll continue to gain more insight on the hows and whys of this indisputable connection.  Until then, it’s powerful to know that our thoughts and beliefs have a direct effect on our health and the health of others.

A healing circle is formed by a group of like-minded people who pray together at a specific time for the purpose of requesting and directing healing to an individual or group through the natural working of energy and divine intervention. Many times, this is a form of distance healing as the person or people praying are not physically present with those seeking the healing.

Healing circles may be held by local churches, online forums and groups of like-minded individuals, including practitioners of modalities which incorporate the direction and use of spiritual healing. Unity Church, which describes itself as a “positive, practical Christianity,” is one church that brings individuals together regularly for healing circles and also offers an online service for group prayer requests. Practitioners of Serenity Vibration Healing® is an example of a modality that incorporates an active form of prayer in its approach and some practitioners respond to requests for healing circles on a case-by-case basis.

People who are dealing with a health challenge may often find that it is not enough to merely Group Energy address the physical symptoms. Optimum health is attained by paying attention to the whole self – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Likewise, incorporating energy healing via a spiritually-based healing protocol is considered by many to be highly beneficial and assists in all aspects of healing.

Healing circles call forth divine light to support the body’s holistic self-healing abilities, and provide an avenue for the mind and emotions to align with the body’s desire to be healthy. Typically, it is useful to look behind the current physical symptoms and find the underlying non-physical needs that the body wants fulfilled and dissolve the related energy blockages.

Disruptions of one’s own natural energy can occur as a result of unresolved or unexpressed emotions, limiting thought patterns and genetics. The absence of clarity and focus, passion, joy, harmony and peace in daily life may lead to imbalances when it comes to overall health. By addressing our wholeness and utilizing divine light, we are better able to achieve maximum healing and realize our full potential.

There is inherent power in the group energy formed by healing circles. When healing directed thoughts are sent frequently or by a larger number of individuals, they are automatically uploaded to energy grids. The grids receive the thoughts to form an exponentially powerful energy pulse, which can be utilized by all with the assistance of divine intervention.

Even a simple prayer by a healing circle each day will send a pulse of energy to the grids for healing and raise the frequency of vibration and light to a higher level, thereby benefiting everyone. The divine nature of healing circles transcends the limits of time and space and produces an unbroken transmission of energy, repeating over and over without end.

Energy healing is a completely safe and non-invasive way of channeling the body’s natural energy with the help of the divine. It assists with safe healing at physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Energy healing has no exclusivity with specific religions, yet it is directed by spiritual guidance and orchestrated by divine intervention. Healing circles provide support for those in need of healing and they are a way for others to be of service in a spiritual capacity. This method can be used in addition to other methods of health care, enhancing what is provided or what is received from the hospital or health care providers.

Your Inner Power Source is an innate infinite aspect within the wholeness of you, which can help you handle the day to day trials and tribulations of life while assisting you to evolve spiritually. Your inner power may also be referred to as your High Self, God Self, Inner Being or Soul, as well as various other ways to describe your connection to Source.

This power from within is available to everyone because it is the essence of who you truly are. The only prerequisite for using this power is to spend time seeking it out, thereby consciously incorporating the guidance and inspiration of this aspect of yourself into your daily life.

Amazing things can happen when you consciously access your inner power, which is your divine birthright. Some people are able to naturally access their inner power, accelerating their physical healing and achieving goals that were previously elusive. More commonly, it is necessary to seek out a teacher, guide or clergy to help you connect with your own inner power. Finding a good teacher will make the search for your inner power easier, as a teacher will guide you through the process.

When searching for our own inner power, we’re not talking about developing superhero abilities as some may think. The purpose of connecting with and utilizing your inner power is for our own personal well-being although you may ultimately help others too. Reducing stress, cultivating relaxation and enhancing self-confidence are exemplary issues to focus on when initially exploring the fullness of inner power.

Calling upon your inner power to neutralize uncomfortable or troubling emotions, such as anger or fear, is a highly effective practice to strengthen your connection. With conscious awareness and inner strength you can control your mind and emotions and influence the health of your body as well. It is something that typically you may find challenging to begin with; however having a strong sense of who you want to be can in time allow you to do this with ease and confidence.

Set a positive self image for yourself, as a goal to work towards. This alerts your Inner Power Source that you are choosing to be in alignment with the truth of who you really are spiritually and at an essence level. By setting this positive self image in your mindset beforehand, you will be less likely to revert back to looking at and following outside influences that you previously allowed to negatively define you. Peer pressure, even for adults can result in many adversarial forces trying to battle with the positive attributes you are diligently working to instill.

When your emotions are on the verge of escaping with a vengeance, it is within your power to neutralize or transform them rather than give into them and project them onto or towards another. Diffusing any anger, for example, that you may feel towards someone by acknowledging the presence of it and mentally handing it over to your Inner Power Source is an act of self-responsibility. Simply silently say something like, “I choose to let go of this anger and release it to Source.” Having the intention of engaging your Inner Power Source is all that is needed. By consciously letting your inner power take over, you have freed yourself from a potentially difficult situation and have demonstrated accountability for your own reactions and choices.

Accessing your Inner Power Source is also a means to attain abundance and prosperity in your life. Unlock that key and use it as a way to achieve what you want by bettering yourself, which naturally can enrich the lives of others and our world in the process. By becoming a master of your personal inner power you can attain your dreams. All things that we create as individuals begin with our minds, and it is ultimately our own responsibility to keep the negative feelings, words and actions at bay and nullify them.

Using your inner power will allow you to achieve more in your life, as you will be spending less time focusing on the negative aspects which surround you. By choosing to find and use your inner power, you are choosing a path to consciously connect with your innate nature, bringing your whole self into your everyday life experiences. All of your negative thoughts, feelings and actions can be counter-acted by following this path; giving you the gift of a more peaceful sense of being and the inspiration to marvelously create a life of joy.
